Business Development Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join the existing Sales Team within a fast-paced environment.

What We Need

We are seeking a dynamic professional to drive growth in the telecommunications sector by identifying and quantifying opportunities across broadband, utilities, and government/defence markets, including both direct and indirect sales channels such as system integrators. The role involves researching potential market areas for telecom solutions, presenting C&W’s innovative offerings to prospective clients, and proactively communicating our value proposition. You will represent the company at industry events and conferences to build networks, promote products, and strengthen brand presence. A key part of the position is fostering long-term relationships while staying informed on emerging technologies and new product developments to ensure C&W remains at the forefront of the industry.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Identify and quantify target sectors across broadband, utilities, and government/defence, defining both direct and indirect routes-to-market (including system integrators).
  • Research and evaluate potential market areas to uncover new telecommunications opportunities.
  • Present C&W telecommunications solutions to prospective users, delivering tailored in-person and online presentations.
  • Proactively communicate C&W’s value proposition in client meetings, proposals, and partner engagements.
  • Represent the business at industry events and conferences to network, generate leads, and promote products and brand.
  • Build and sustain strategic relationships with customers, partners, and system integrators, while staying current on new products and technologies.
  • Create sales forecasts, track progress, and present performance updates to the Senior Management Team.
  • Contribute to tender applications and bid submissions to win new business.
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop solutions and resolve issues for both new and existing customers.

  • Additional training provided by suppliers as & when required, also in office in-person.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the telecommunications or technology sector, ideally with exposure to broadband, utilities, and government/defence markets.
  • Strong market research and analytical skills to identify opportunities and quantify sector potential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of delivering compelling value propositions to diverse audiences.
  • Relationship-building expertise, with a track record of developing and maintaining strategic partnerships.

Desirable

  • Management Experience/ bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Business management or Business Administration/ Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business: Sales & Marketing, Level 3 award in Sales Management.
  • 5+ years of proven experience of working in the Telecoms sector.

Technical Project Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to join the existing Project and Engineering Team within a fast-paced environment. The person will form an important and integral part of an expanding business and at an exciting time within the company’s history.

This is a 37 hour a week job, preferably based at the Gloucester office, remote working can be integrated within the role. Mon-Thurs 8.30am-5pm Fri 8.30am-4.30pm with a 1-hour lunch break.

Function

  • Planning & executing

Senior Telecommunications Specialist

We are looking for a full time experienced Senior Telecommunications Specialist with a strong operational and technical background across wireless and wired communication technologies with demonstrated expertise in Wi-Fi systems, Cellular and Radio Technologies, SDH/PDH multiplexing, Microwave links, LoRaWAN deployments, and routing & switching. Also, a proven track record supporting pre-sales engineering (including PoC designs and builds), technical support, project delivery and design activities within Commercial, Government and MoD environments.

Roles & Reponsibilites

  • Working with stakeholders to establish requirements.
  • Support Cellular and Radio technologies, including integration, performance monitoring and optimisation across mobile and private networks.
  • Support SDH/PDH based transport networks and interfaces for legacy and modern telecom infrastructures.
  • Develop and support LoRaWAN IoT networks, including coverage planning, gateway deployment, and network server integration.
  • Design and support Microwave Point-to-Point/Point-to-Multipoint systems for backhaul and connectivity solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable and secure network architectures.
  • Evaluate and recommend networking technologies and equipment.
  • Configure, manage and troubleshoot routing & switching equipment across enterprise and service provider environments and technologies; inclusive of Layer-2 and Layer-3 routing protocols, VLANs.
  • Build, maintain and control all design, configuration and policy documents.

Employment History & Experience.

The candidate will ideally hold a bachelor’s degree with a telecommunications discipline, or a related field and/or a minimum of 8 years experience within the telecommunications industry.

  • Delivered level 1-3 technical support in fast-paced environments, resolving customer issues related to connectivity, hardware/software faults and service degradations.
  • Engaged in pre-sales engineering activities, including customer requirements capture, technical presentations, solution design, bill of materials (BoM) preparation and partner engagement.
  • Built and executed Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for customers to validate proposed solutions and technologies.
  • Led or supported telecom and network projects from inception through to delivery, including site surveys, design documents, installation, commissioning and test plans.
  • Produced detailed design documentation, including high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, test specifications and operational records.
  • Ensured all implementations complied with documented specifications, industry standards and client requirements.
  • Participated in tender processes, supporting proposals with technical input, pricing assumptions, solution architecture and compliance matrices.
  • Experience preparing formal responses to tender submissions and maintaining accurate design and document records throughout project lifecycles.

Junior Telecommunications Support Engineer

We are looking to appoint additional Junior Telecommunications Support Engineers that will be fundamental to the company’s operational and service support capability, and a defined career path available, with future option. Full-Time – 37 hours/week, Gloucester office-based Role.

Due to the continued growth, the company is looking to appoint a further two Telecommunications Support Engineers to enhance an already strong and competent team with different specialisms.

What are we looking for?

The company markets a wide range of PDH, SDH, Ethernet/IP, MPLS, Optical specialised, DWDM, Cellular and Wireless, LTE based networking equipment and Syncronisation. We provide and manage a variety of SNMP based network management systems servers. Applicants must have a basic understanding current technology.

We are looking for positive, hardworking candidates who are willing to learn and keep on top of modern communication technologies as the telecommunication industry evolves. The company has a reputation for integrity and strong technical capability, and applicants will need to be a team player who is willing to learn and progress their career within a growing business.

Applicants should have experience within the telecommunications sector and be eligible for UKSC & NPPV3 clearances with the availability to deploy into the field when required.

We provide 24/7 support to our customers so the ability to participate in an out of hours rota is essential. This will take the form phone support, Email support and the occasional customer site visit.
